Where as sometimes this wedding photography job puts me on the road, far from home, other times it sends me to just the next town over from mine. May 14th was an example of that as I headed over to Trussville, Alabama to photograph the wedding of Katie and Austin.
Katie and Austin were an incredibly fun and sweet couple who had a traditional church wedding at First United Methodist Church in Trussville. It's the church where Katie and her family are members, and the whole church community chipped in to make sure the big event went off without a hitch for the happy couple.
Being in the middle of May, we were afforded a beautiful day when it came time for the first reveal photos. Katie and Austin decided to do it in the courtyard of the church, and it made for a very lovely location. The couple spent some time with just each other and were able to get some really tender images to capture the emotions of that particular moment.
After the formals inside the church, everyone had a bit of downtime before the actual ceremony began. The bridesmaids and groomsmen, who were all great to work with and be around, spent that time visiting both the bride and groom and making sure they were both comfortable.
It then came time to say vows, exchange rings, and have the first kiss. Katie and Austin were married in front of a church full of supportive family and friends.
Those supportive family and friends then joined the happy couple in the church fellowship hall for the reception. Everyone mingled about and enjoyed the delicious food available while also celebrating Katie and Austin's union.
The time then came for Katie and Austin to depart. The two departed to a bubble exit from their guests and then saw the "decor" their friends had given the getaway car. With everyone wishing them the best, Katie and Austin then left the reception and into their lives together as newlyweds.
I'd like to thank Katie and Austin for having me photograph their wedding, their families for being so wonderful to work with and so welcoming to me as the wedding photographer, and Trussville First United Methodist Church for being such gracious hosts. This wedding was truly a pleasure to work. I'd also like to wish Katie and Austin nothing but the best in their new lives together.
