DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events welcomed the summer wedding season in style by heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and The Historic Drish House on June 2nd for the wedding of Morgan and Nathan. You might remember seeing the sneak previews of their weddings photos and Morgan's beautiful bridal portrait session, which also took place at The Drish House. I am happy to now be able to share with you all the photos from the lovely wedding at this great historic venue in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Morgan and Nathan had a beautiful early afternoon ceremony surrounded by friends and family and the historic confines of The Drish House. The venue, as I've mentioned before, offers such wonderful natural light in all corners of the building, and this translates so well when it comes to wedding photography. Once Morgan and Nathan finished getting ready in the upstairs area of The Historic Drish House, they made their way down to the spacious main floor to have their first look. Bathed in sunlight and the lovely decor of the room, Morgan and Nathan had an emotional moment when they got to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. They even took a moment to exchange personalized vows with each other in advance of the wedding ceremony.
Once the first look photos, along with the wedding party and family photos, were completed, Morgan and Nathan enjoyed some down time at The Historic Drish House before the ceremony began. It was a lovely spiritually based service that was officiated by a close friend of the bride and groom. Once Morgan and Nathan said their vows, exchanged rings, and gave each other a kiss, they were now officially husband and wife. The couple, along with their family and friends, participated in a brief worship set directly after the ceremony and right before the start of the reception.
Their reception was handled by the fine staff at The Historic Drish House, including the venue manager, Soapy Jones. Soapy is a dear friend of mine so it was great to be able to work a wedding day with her and her associates. They conducted and organized a great reception for Morgan, Nathan, their family, and their friends.
When it was time to leave, Morgan and Nathan had some fun with their exit. They gave their guests the choice of wielding magic wands from the world of Harry Potter or inflatable lightsabers from the world of Star Wars. These props served as the decor for their grand exit from The Historic Drish House and Tuscaloosa, Alabama as husband and wife.
I'd like to thank Morgan and Nathan so much for having me out as their official wedding photographer. It was a lovely day to document. I'd also like to thank Soapy and the staff at The Historic Drish House in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for providing such a great location and service to the couple, their friends, and their family. If you are looking for a venue space in Tuscaloosa, I highly recommend The Historic Drish House.
