I was happy to head down to Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama on the morning of May 6th to do what turned out to be a lovely engagement session. The happy couple was Savannah and Zach, who will be getting married at the beautiful Lake Guntersville State Park in Alabama this October. They wanted to do an early morning and rustic engagement session, and we all agreed Oak Mountain State Park on a Sunday morning would be an ideal location.
We were blessed with perfect conditions across the board during this session as Savannah and Zach made use of the numerous trails and waterfront settings that can be found in the confines of Oak Mountain State Park. One of those trails had extra significance for the couple. Near a fallen tree and right by a creek, Savannah and Zach became engaged. We made sure to get plenty of photos in that location during this session.
The couple also showed off their love and support for their alma mater, Mississippi State University, by wearing the colors of that school. The session also ended on a really fun note when we took some photos by the hobby and teaching farm located on the grounds of the state park. It is there that a friendly peacock decided to photobomb the session, but no one objected to its involvement.
This really was a great engagement session to do, and I'm so glad Savannah and Zach selected me to be their official wedding photographer. I can't wait to photograph their big day in October.
