Congrats on that Engagement! | Your Wedding Photography Options

I'm writing this post on the week before Christmas, and, for a wedding photographer, this is a big day on top of all the holiday celebrations. Christmas really is the peak of the holiday engagement season as couples all over will be taking that first step to eventually tying the knot. If you or someone you know has gotten engaged or is about to get engaged, let me extend ongratulations your way. I'd also like to extend some information about your wedding photography options.

Once the holidays have ended, it will be a great time to start doing the early planning for your wedding. That includes setting a date, which is the most important as everything revolves around that decision. Then comes selecting the right venue for the type of wedding you are planning.

Now I know I might be biased at this next part, but I fully believe picking your wedding photographer should be the next decision made in the planning process. Getting your wedding photography squared away early will ensure your top choice isn't taken in the rush of those doing the same exact thing after getting engaged over the holidays.

Finding the right wedding photographer isn't just about finding someone who will take good pictures. It is about finding someone who you are comfortable with having document one of the most important days of your life. It is about finding someone who you want to record all those special moments.

When you get to looking for your wedding photographer, I, of course, would love to talk to you about what DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events can offer you. We can set up a consultation, whether it is on the phone or in person, to discuss all the important details about your big day. We can over everything you have planned and even talk about things you might not have thought about just yet. I'll use my experience to make sure all the bases are covered, big and small.

I'd also like to let you know that ALL weddings I photograph include the following:

  • Full coverage of the wedding day, which means you give me a start time and an end time. I do not impose a time limit.
  • At least an engagement session or bridal session.
  • ALL photographs, the engagement/bridal session + the wedding, in high resolution quality with print rights and social media quality. You also get them in both color and black and white.
  • A private proofing gallery for you and your family/friends to enjoy.

Now of course more things are added via the different packages I have, but those base options everyone gets when they select DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events as their wedding photographer. The engagement/bridal session is also important because it lets us all further get to know each other while also giving you a great set of photographs you can use for save the dates, invitations, and reception decor.

I do also want to let you know that I rarely charge travel considerations to photograph weddings. All travel fees are automatically waived if the wedding is held in the state of Alabama, but I also waive fees for weddings in places such as the Atlanta, Georgia metro area, portions of Mississippi, and even portions of Tennessee. If you are getting married in locations other than those, don't worry. I'm available to travel across the country so you can get the wedding photography you want and deserve.

More information about my wedding photography pricing and the investment you make by choosing DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events can be found via the link below. You can also find my wedding photography FAQ and a link to all my current galleries as well. These are all great reference materials as you begin to search for your wedding photographer. My 2018 schedule is booking up already, but I still have a good bit of availability if you know your wedding is going to be in that year.

I'd once again like to extend a word of congratulations to all those who have recently gotten engaged, and I look forward to hearing from all those looking for their wedding photographer!
