September 24th was a busy day for DSmithImages Wedding Photography, Portraits, and Events, and I capped it off by doing a really fun engagement portrait session in the downtown Birmingham, Alabama area. The session was for Laura and Chase, who will be getting married at the end of October in Oneonta, Alabama. They wanted an urban and cityscape setting for their session so I knew exactly what would work.
The session started on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the historic Morris Avenue section of Birmingham. We took in the various locations and settings in that popular spot before heading over to the 2nd Avenue north section of downtown Birmingham. There we made use of the lovely brick backdrops, sidewalks, and pedastrian bridges. I feel all the settings and locations provided Laura and Chase the urban cityscape look and atmosphere they were wanting for their engagement portraits. The settings were aided by the ample and warm late September sunlight present throughout the session.
Laura and Chase were a delight to work with during this engagement session, and I can't wait to photograph their wedding in October. I know it will be a lovely day with two lovely people. I'm thankful they selected me to be their wedding photographer.
